![]() ![]() The new designer Ben Pielstick has been hard at work with leader designer Andrew to bring various systems including the combat into reality. Mark Jacobs is also finding it challenging to pull himself from his environmental art role to focus on his team leadership role as has been proven necessary. As updates consistently roll in monthly, it appears that Jacobs and his team at CSE are determined to push development further as quickly as possible, and if history is any indication, we should be hearing from Jacobs on the CityStateGames official Twitch account pretty soon.Slowly crawling out from the icy grip of one of the worst east coast winters in recent memory, the team at CityState Entertainment offers an update on how things currently fare for Camelot Unchained.Īlthough many goals set for March were late including the expansion of internal testing, CityState is bulking up in staff and will soon be changing offices to accommodate the new size of the team. in February of 2021, City State Entertainement received a second PPP loan of $716K to further fund their team, and keep their developers working, but as of this time, the funds and the loan's status have not been disclosed. In April of 2020, City State Entertainment was approved for a $639k Payment Protection Program loan to keep their staff of 38 developers working. It still seems a substantial number are still awaiting refunds, but CSE is attempting to fulfill their requests, even if it appears to be at a snail’s pace.Ĭamelot Unchained successfully funded on Kickstarter on May 2 nd 2013, with over 14 thousand backers that raised over 2.2 million dollars. In spite of progress being made on both fronts, supporters who have requested refunds of their initial investments have been receiving them, even if some cases may take several months, or more than a year, to do so. Despite the initial backlash regarding FS:R, CEO of CSE, Mark Jacobs has continued to develop both titles at the same time, with the last newsletter update for FS:R hitting March 26 th, 2021. This test is hot on the heels of the previous Verdant Forest test, as new biomes continue to be pushed out at an aggressive pace.Īs CSE continues to work on Camelot Unchained, it also appears that they haven’t forgotten about Final Stand: Ragnarok which is a separate stand-alone title that was announced back in February of 2020. Testing, on the other hand, is still moving along as planned, with a new biome called the Golden Plains, that was teased initially back in February, is now heading into testing for the duration of May. It’s important to note that the team stresses these new additions are only in testing, and are subject to change in the future. Chris Junior, Designer, Camelot Unchained, City State Entertainment “ Having both combat and physical actions and movement disassociated from one another in their own stat-tree actually allows us a wide range of tools when it comes to designing out stats, craftable options and overall content.” Separating these actions from combat and other movement types will open up a lot of possibilities for the team, as Chris mentions below: One of the most interesting pieces of information to take away from the release are the changes to movement and stances.Īccording to Kara and designer Chris, the systems as they stood were clunky, and the premise of the new system would be to change how stats work, and to add new attributes like Fortitude, Vigor and Vigor regeneration, that will function similarly to the other core attributes, Endurance, Stamina and Stamina Regen. ![]() There are some substantial highlights to the latest information dump. In previous newsletters we hear of progress and changes made to the development of the game, and the latest newsletter is no different. With each new newsletter, comes more information about Camelot Unchained and their state of development. ![]()
